Σεισμός μεγέθους 6,3 Ρίχτερ σημειώθηκε κοντά στις ακτές της κεντρικής Χιλής. Ο κίνδυνος για τσουνάμι αξιολογείται αλλά ήδη υπάρχουν συστάσεις να μετακινηθούν σε μεγαλύτερο υψόμετρο οι κάτοικοι παράκτιων περιοχών, όπως το Βαλενάρ.
